Fort Worth first site for Chicken Salad Chick chain

Chicken Salad Chick

Fort Worth will be the location for the state’s first Chicken Salad Chick fast casual restaurant.

The Fort Worth location, one of three planned in the area over the next few years, will open this spring at 8825 Tehama Ridge Parkway in the Presidio Town Crossing Shopping Center.

“Our success in the Southeast has exceeded our expectations, so we are all excited to introduce our concept to a brand new market like Fort Worth. We truly believe Chicken Salad Chick will be well received with guests throughout Texas and hope to continue to build our loyal following in the South,” said Stacy Brown, Chicken Salad Chick founder.

The new restaurant is owned and operated by husband-and-wife team, John and Meggie Schissler. Meggie’s first experience with Chicken Salad Chick was in 2009 when she would meet local students at the restaurant as part of her ministry outreach. She went on to work in the brand’s corporate office in Alabama as part of the marketing team.

“After working in the corporate office for several years, and marketing this one-of-a-kind brand to cities across the Southeast, I couldn’t wait for the day when Chicken Salad Chick would open in Texas, my home state,” said Meggie. “When that time finally came, John and I jumped at the opportunity to be able to share this fantastic product and story with the local community in Fort Worth. We’re looking forward to growing the brand throughout Texas and plan to open two additional locations once our first restaurant is up and running.”

The Chicken Salad Chick concept was established in 2008. The company now has 49 restaurants across the Southeast and has currently sold 141 franchises to be developed across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. The brand was recently named as the top chicken salad in the country to try in the March/April issue of Cooking with Paula Deen, one of FastCasual.com’s top Movers and Shakers and as one of NRN’s 2015 Breakout Brands.
