Fort Worth real estate agent to compete on ‘Amazing Race’

THE AMAZING RACE returns this season with a race unlike any before. In a brand new twist, all 22 Racers are complete strangers who will meet on the starting line. Before “GO,” Racers will immediately compete in a challenge that will determine the order for picking a Teammate, based on nothing but first impressions. These new pairs of Teammates will then have mere moments to learn their traveling companion’s name before beginning a race around the world that will span 9 countries, 17 cities and 36,000 miles. The new season of the 10-time Emmy Award-winning series premieres on a new date and time, Thursday, March 30 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. She graduated cum laude from Texas Christian University, she’s walked the runway as a Miss Texas USA contestant and she’s sold homes priced in the six digits. But now she’s in a real Amazing Race.

Fort Worth-real estate agent Ashton Theiss of Rogers Healy & Associates will be a cast members on the coming season of CBS reality show The Amazing Race, CBS announced March 21. The new season begins March 30.

Participants in the 29th race around the world also include an Army drill sergeant, a pro snowboarder, a Wall Street banker, an auctioneer and a college drum major. The racers begin their journey in Los Angeles and head to their first destination, Panama City. Along the route, racers will be challenged with building and delivering desks and school supplies to children in Tanzania, skydiving in Norway and bungee-jumping 240 feet into the Corinth Canal in Greece. The first team to cross the final finish line will win the $1 million prize. In previous years the two-person teams have picked their own partners, but this year there’s a twist: all 22 racers are complete strangers. They will meet on the starting line, have a few moments to learn their traveling companion’s name and then begin a race around the world that will span nine countries, 17 cities and 36,000 miles.

TCU alum Theiss, 25, is the first person in her family to graduate from college. In an interview on the CBS Amazing Race website, she said: “During my time in the industry, I have worked with a wide variety of transactions. My passion is connecting with and helping people achieve their personal goals in real estate. I work with clients on everything from high-rise urban living to ranchettes in the country, and small, quaint historic cottages to elegant luxury estates. In addition to residential real estate, I do my fair share of farm and ranch transactions. My largest listing is an $8.75 million farm right now.”
