Hibbett Sports Inc. has announced a Breckenridge store west of Fort Worth as the Alabama-based athletic retailer adds to its Texas inventory.

The Stephens County location will employ eight full- and part-time team members. It will mark the company’s 90th Texas location, with North Texas stores already located in Fort Worth, Saginaw, Graham, Dallas, Cleburne and Waxahachie.

“People in Breckenridge take their sports seriously, and we plan to give them the athletic products and know-how they’ve been looking for,” said president and CEO Jeff Rosenthal in a news release.

The Breckenridge store is expected to open in late July at 3732 W. Walker St.

Hibbett Sports and its subsidiaries operate more than 1,000 athletic retail stores in small to mid-sized markets, primarily in the nation’s South, Southwest, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest regions. Its primary retail format is a 5,000 square-foot store located in strip centers and enclosed malls. Each store typically lies within 150 miles of another store location.
