The Texas Association of Builders is asking attendees to “collaborate and listen” as Robert Van Winkle, aka rapper Vanilla Ice, is a keynote speaker for the 2019 Sunbelt Builders Show. The two-day trade show and four-day conference is slated for Aug. 6-9 at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine.
Vanilla Ice will be the show’s opening keynote speaker Aug. 7 at 9:30 a.m., sponsored by Great American Insurance Group. Vanilla Ice, known for his rapping and reality TV personality, is also a real-estate entrepreneur with more than 15 years of hands-on home improvement experience. He will speak to the homebuilding industry about his career, hold a Q&A and perform a couple of his most famous songs. The Dallas native partnered with the DIY Network in 2010 and launched The Vanilla Ice Project. Currently in its ninth season, it focuses on budget-friendly flips and tweaks that make a big difference in home sale results. In 2011, The Vanilla Ice Project won Best Home Show by The Factual Entertainment Awards.
