KDC to develop Toyota headquarters site in Plano

Dallas-based developer KDC Real Estate Development & Investments will build the new Toyota Motor Co. headquarters in Plano, the developer announced Thursday. “We are proud to be partnering with Toyota on the development of its new home in North America,” said Steve Van Amburgh, CEO, KDC. “We look forward to welcoming Toyota to Plano with a state-of-the-art headquarters that truly reflects the values of the company and its employees. It’s a real honor to play a role in this important milestone for Toyota and historic corporate relocation for North Texas.” The $350 million Toyota camups will be home to the company’s North American headquarters, relocated from locations in Southern Califorina, Kentucky and New York. Toyota plans to move into the Plano project in 2016 and 2017.

It will be built on 100 acres at the southwest corner of State Highway 121 and Legacy Drive. The project is expected to total more than 1 million square feet. KDC is also developing the State Farm Insurance campus in Richardson and is working on an urban village project in Legacy West, near the Toyota headquarters site and the FedEx headquarters site, also nearby.
