Want to rock & brew all nite?
The Boardwalk at Grandscape, the development that houses Warren Buffett’s giant Nebraska Furniture Mart in The Colony, will be joined by another project from a high profile group. KISS front men Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons, along with co-founding partners restaurant industry veteran Michael Zislis and concert industry veterans Dave and Dell Furano, said July 28 they are expanding their Rock & Brews restaurant brand into the development.
Working in partnership with their multi-unit franchise partners for the region, Brett Anz and Perry Mann of R&B Southwest LLC, the Rock & Roll Hall of Famers are currently developing their first Texas Rock & Brews in the Grandscape Nebraska Furniture Mart Development.
The restaurant, slated to open in January 2016, will feature the brand’s signature American comfort food and a full bar with one of the area’s largest selections of international and craft beers, according to a news release. The rock-inspired environment will include concert lighting; multiple flat screens sharing concert-style rock videos and sporting events; and, rock artwork, including a Great Wall of Rock featuring rock legends.
“We are very excited to work with Paul and Gene to introduce Rock & Brews in the Lone Star State,” said Anz, R&B Southwest franchise partner. “We are dedicated to providing a quality dining experience and a welcoming environment for families, with something exciting for rockers of all ages.”
Rock & Brews in The Colony will bring more than 200 new full and part-time jobs for restaurant employees and dozens of construction jobs. This is the third Rock & Brews for Anz and his partner Perry Mann, who are looking for additional locations in Texas, according to the Rock & Brews press release.
Grand opening activities hosted by Stanley and Simmons will take place in early 2016 benefitting wounded warriors, veterans and active military. For information about Rock & Brews, visit www.rockandbrews.com.
The first Rock & Brews opened near LAX Airport in the beach community of El Segundo, California in April of 2012. Restaurant industry veteran Mike Reynolds serves as CEO.
The band KISS was founded in New York City in 1973 by Stanley and Simmons and had several hits, including: “Rock and Roll All Nite” and “Beth.” Simmons has also been active on television and on radio, including a reality TV show.
After opening earlier this year, the Grandscape development is continuing to see new development. Hard Eight BBQ and the Hampton Inn and Suites are currently under construction with tentative Spring 2016 open dates. Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen opened in June. Mi Cocina should open in 2016. Grandscape is also actively leasing 2, 8,000 square foot buildings, that will be located along Plano Parkway & Nebraska Furniture Mart Dr., slated for a Summer-2016 opening.
“We are blessed with very patience capital which allows us to remain focused on making the right decisions for the long term. We will continue to make announcements to future Grandscape phases as we finalize timing,” said, Jeff Lind, Chief Strategy & Development Officer-Grandscape.
