Las Vegas Trail Revitalization Project hires executive director

The Las Vegas Trail Revitalization Project (LTVRISE) announced Oct. 8 that Karmen L. Rubin had been selected as its new executive director effective immediately.

LVTRISE represents a partnership of private companies, human service organizations and government agencies dedicated to helping residents of the Las Vegas Trail area improve their neighborhood and their lives.

As executive director, Rubin will be responsible for carrying out the mission and vision of LVTRISE and providing community leadership to enhance the quality of life in Las Vegas Trail area. Rubin will oversee formal partnerships within the business community and amongst key stakeholders.

“I am pleased to have been appointed as the leader of such a meaningful program,” Rubin said in a news release. “I look forward to furthering collaborative efforts to restore the Las Vegas Trail neighborhood to a safe and thriving area in Fort Worth.”

Prior to joining LVTRISE, Rubin served as the director of employment programs for Goodwill Industries of Fort Worth where she oversaw client outreach and relationship management activities related to client intake, job training and placement services for homeless and intimate risk clients and their families.

“As part of our long-term vision to help residents improve their neighborhood and their lives, it is important to have a strong leader,” said Fort Worth City Councilman Brian Byrd. “We believe Karmen has the leadership skills and experience to continue to move the effort forward.”

Rubin has served as communications director for the Society of Professional Marketing Services (SMPS) and was a 40 Under 40 Award Nominee by the Shreveport-Bossier Chamber of Commerce in 2013. She is a current member of the 2018-2019 Leadership Fort Worth Class and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.

She received a master of business administration from Louisiana State University Shreveport in 2015 and a bachelor of science degree in health studies management and marketing from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 2010.
