M Bistro shuts abruptly at location with many closures

In the Montgomery Plaza location that has seen more than its fair share of turn-over in its short lifespan, the most recent American Bistro concept – M Bistro is closing as well.

Chef Steve Mitchell announced the decision in a Facebook post on May 30, “It is with a heavy heart that I must announce the M bistro will be CLOSING this week. Not sure when because I am out. My staff are running the show until they come in and close it down.”

The string of failed restaurants at 2600 West Seventh include: Mac’s Steaks & Seafood, Deluxe Bar & Grille, Monty’s Corner, Bite City Grill, King Crab Tap House, and now M Bistro.

When, King Crab Tap House closed a few months back after a brief run, rumors of a cursed location again began to swell. I am not one to believe in “cursed locations” but to see a restaurant that celebrated its grand opening just over one month ago, give up the ghost so quickly…makes me wonder.

According to Mitchell, financial concerns and less than full disclosures by his business partners were at the heart of M Bistro’s demise.
