Mansfield welcomes Main Street Lofts to downtown

Main Street Lofts are expected to open by summer 2017.

Main Street Lofts is off and running after Mansfield officials broke ground on the city’s newest residential development.

“The Main Street Lofts project makes up a critical residential component for the redevelopment of Historic Mansfield”, said Felix Wong, the city’s director of planning.

Joining Wong for the recent groundbreaking were representatives with NRP Group LLC and Realty Capital Management LLC, developing the project in the Historic Mansfield Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone.

The initial phase will offer 314-loft style apartments. Options will include one-, two- and three-bedroom units with some live-work properties offering street front urban-style living.

“The city’s integral involvement and commitment to not only our project, but more importantly, the entirety of Mansfield’s Historic Downtown District, helped us visualize and design a community befitting our mutually desired goal of creating a gateway to historic downtown,” said Kyle Lovelady, senior vice president of development for the NRP Group.

Formerly the site of a mill and many Mansfield community picnics in the mid-1900s, the land had been owned by the same family since the 1800s.

“We are incredibly excited to be involved in Mansfield and believe that the Main Street Lofts project will be a major catalyst to Historic Mansfield’s growth, encouraging existing and new businesses to invest in the area”, said Tim Coltart, managing director of Realty Capital Management.

Main Street Lofts is expected to be completed by summer 2017.
