TCU is getting more parking space as the campus continues to grow – for the time being. On Dec. 5, the Fort Worth City Council approved incorporation of the property east of South University Drive, north of Bowie Street, west of McCart Avenue and south of Cantey Street.
It includes residential structures that will be removed and the block replatted. Properties owned by TCU but not yet ready for campus development will be built as parking lots for temporary use.
TCU proposed incorporating the property into a larger rebuilding/expansion plan for the area, including a new fine arts building.
The expansions will include the abandonment of some streets and rerouting of utilities.
