Black White & Brew, a new industrial and garage-themed cafe, will open in the fall at 710 S. Main St. as part of the latest renovation project by M2G Ventures.
The building, located at the corner of Leuda and South Main and adjacent to Rahr Brewery, is an 18,000-square-foot 1940s structure.
Black White & Brew is the second tenant to sign a lease at 710 S. Main, joining Fort Worth’s first cidery, Locust Cider, M2G Ventures said in a news release.
Twin sisters June and Julia Vichaichalermwong and college friend David Vu have had the idea of opening Black White & Brew in an eclectic location since 2014.
M2G, interestingly, is also owned by twin sisters, Jessica Miller and Susan Gruppi.
The news release said that Black White & Brew considered sites in Deep Ellum and the Bishop Arts District but were drawn to Fort Worth because of the old town yet modern feel, the arts, and the culture.
“The Near Southside brings such an eclectic mix to Fort Worth. On our travels, one of our favorite things to do is sit in a plaza or European café and have a coffee or glass of wine and people watch,” M2G Co-President Jessica Miller said in the news release.
“We were drawn to Black, White and Brew to bring that feeling of community, culture and comfort to our project at 710 S. Main and the heart of the Near Southside,” Miller said.
The owners of Black White & Brew say they also were inspired by their foreign travel.
“We’ve had the privilege of traveling to Asia and Europe. The international coffee culture is so unique, said June Vichaichalermwong. “Coffee consumption is a pastime rather than a daily jolt of caffeine.
“Their coffee shops have high-end vibes and serve freshly prepared beautiful foods. That’s what we want for Black White & Brew. This type of venue is evolving in American coffee culture and we want to be a part of it,” she said in the news release.
The 710 South Main building in Near Southside has two ground floor spaces (1,400 SF & 2,400 SF) and a second-floor divisible office space (9,800 SF) currently available for lease.
M2G Ventures’ renovation plans include exposing the original brick, black steel storefronts, and the first neon mural installation in the Near Southside currently being curated by Katie Murray, who serves as their chief creative.
