🕐 1 min read

More freeway closures await Fort Worth-area motorists from 9 p.m. Tuesday Sept. 29 through 5 a.m. Wednesday Sept. 30. They are as follows:

·         All lanes of northbound Interstate 35W north of Meacham Boulevard will be closed. Traffic will be redirected to U.S. Highway 377.

·         The direct connectors from northbound I-35W to eastbound and westbound IH 820 will be closed. Traffic will be redirected to U.S. 377.

·         There will be a closure of the direct connector from southbound I-35W to westbound Loop 820. Traffic will be redirected to Haltom Road.

·         The on-ramp to northbound I-35W from McMillan Parkway will be closed. Traffic will be redirected to U.S. 377.

The freeway reconstruction causing the closures is part of the $1.4 billion North Tarrant Express 35W project. This includes a section that is currently ranked number eight on the state’s most congested roadway list along 6.5 miles of I-35W from north of I-30 to north of I-820 including the I-35W/I-820 interchange in Fort Worth. The project includes the reconstruction of main lanes and the addition of TEXpress managed lanes and will be complete in 2018.
