Real Deals: CHRISTIE’S REAL ESTATE MOVING INTO DALLAS

Christie’s International Real Estate is expanding into Dallas with Giordano, Wegman, Walsh and Associates, the network’s Fort Worth affiliate since 2016.

Christie’s art business also maintains a Dallas office, headed by Capera Ryan, further promoting the synergy between art and real estate under the Christie’s corporate brand in Texas.

“Our aim is to distinguish our company in the Dallas market by staying laser-focused on client service,” said John Giordano, principal of Giordano, Wegman, Walsh and Associates. “We don’t intend to be the largest firm but to put a premium instead on assisting discerning clients from around the globe to find their ideal home in this great city. We have only begun setting up the bricks and mortar of our operation. Yet already, we have a number of top luxury listings and are recruiting qualified agents in the area to join our team. Dallas very much respects the Christie’s brand and it is an honor to represent the brand in Dallas.”

Expanding into the Dallas market made sense, said Rick Moeser, executive director of Christie’s International Real Estate. “We are delighted to re-enter the Dallas market with this expansion of Giordano, Wegman, Walsh and Associates and look forward to exciting collaborations with our Christie’s art colleagues to best serve the top-tier real estate market in Dallas.”

Burleson Commons is located in Burleson at the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard (Texas Highway 174) and FM 731 and features Premiere Cinemas, retail strip centers and a Kroger Marketplace. The center is managed and owned by Cullinan Properties Ltd., which has its headquarters in Peoria, Illinois.

The Garage opened this summer with a garage theme meant to attract male clients, according to a news release. There has nine grooming specialists and services including haircuts, face shaves, face treatments, waxing, beard trimming and shaping, massage therapy and grooming products.

Burleson will be the first location for R Taco, which is set to be completed in early 2018 in a new building at the Kroger-anchored shopping center.

On the R Taco and The Garage transactions, SRS Real Estate’s Dallas/Fort Worth office represented Cullinan Properties Ltd.

Burleson Commons has also added five new businesses since December 2015 when the Kroger opened.

“Burleson is such a hot market right now with the strong population growth and new home construction,” said the vice president and director of leasing for Cullinan Properties, Kathleen Brill, in a news release. “We have a lot of interest in our few remaining existing spaces and we anticipate more construction and tenant announcements will occur at Burleson Commons later this year.”

The Burleson area has seen growth this year, particularly in economic development. Burleson mayor Ken Shetter announced there was $150 million in new investments in 2016 compared with $12 million in 2015, the news release said. The median household income is more than $5,000 higher than the state’s median income and Burleson has the lowest retail vacancy rate at 1.9 percent than any of the Dallas-Fort Worth submarkets. – Kit Snyder
