Sundt Construction Inc. broke ground Feb. 1 on the Southeast Arlington Recreation Center.

The 39,000-square-foot recreation center will sit on a 12.8-acre site located at 1100 Mansfield Webb Road, adjacent to Webb Community Park. The project will include a gymnasium, fitness and weights area, aerobics and dance studio, classrooms and childcare area.

“This is a great project for our team,” said Eric Hedlund, senior vice president and Texas District Manager for Sundt’s Building Group. “Our firm thrives in a team environment where we can be an integral part of a project’s success. This facility gives us the opportunity to do that, and we’re excited to deliver this new recreation center to the community.”

The project also includes an outdoor aquatics feature, adventure playground, skate park and walking trails. The project is expected to be completed in 2020.
