Tanger Outlets to break ground on Thursday

Tanger Factory Outlet Centers

Tanger Factory Outlet Centers will break ground on its far north Fort Worth location this week.

Known as Tanger Outlets Fort Worth, the site will encompass about 350,000 square feet of retail space and feature more than 80 upscale brand name and designer outlet retailers.

More than 400 jobs are expected to be created during the construction phase, with more than 900 full- and part-time retail positions expected when the center opens in 2017.

Attending the Thursday Oct. 6 event will be Bill Thornton, president and CEO of the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, who will address job creation and local economic impact. Also expect to speak at Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price, District 7 Councilman Dennis Shingleton and Steven B. Tanger, president-CEO of Tanger Outlets.

The center will be located at Champions Circle, 18 miles north of downtown Fort Worth at Interstate 35W and State Highway 114.
