Tarrant County College Aviation Center to be renamed

Erma C. Johnson Hadley

Tarrant County College has renamed its aviation center at Fort Worth Alliance Airport as the Erma C. Johnson Hadley Northwest Campus Center of Excellence for Aviation, Logistics and Transportation.

The name is dedicated to Hadley, who served as district chancellor until her 2015 passing. The district board approved the renaming at a recent board meeting.

The 163,500-square-foot aviation center allowed TCC to bring its aviation programs under one roof along with the Logistics and Supply Chain Management Program, which includes warehouse and transportation management classes. TCC’s aviation programs include Avionics Technology, Airframe Maintenance, Advanced Composite Technology and Professional Pilot Training.

With the graduation of the first class of 17 pilots earlier this month, the college’s aviation program already is hosting information sessions for prospective students in time for fall 2016 enrollment.
