Texas Health opens $40M expansion at Texas Health Southwest Fort Worth

Texas Health Southwest Fort Worth has opened a $40-million expansion across the street from the hospital’s main campus at 6100 Harris Parkway.

Texas Health Southwest Fort Worth has opened its 108,000-square-foot professional office building 2, providing a sports orthopedic surgery center and medical office space as an extension of the hospital campus.

The $40-million expansion includes a five-story professional office building and a five-story parking garage, both located across the street from the hospital’s main campus at 6100 Harris Parkway.

“As our region and our community continues to grow, it’s more important than ever that we be able to offer increased choices for more convenient care to the people of North Texas,” said Joseph DeLeon, president of Texas Health Southwest Fort Worth, commenting in a news release.

“This new medical office space advances the level of care we can provide and, for many, provides an expansion of services in a location that’s closer to home,” DeLeon said.

The medical space features an outpatient surgery center, which includes an observation deck between operating rooms for families and other visitors. Also included are an in-house conference center for educational classes, an endoscopy center and clinic, and about 15,000 square feet of physician office space available for lease.

Dallas-based Skiles Group served as the project’s construction firm, with HKS Architects, also of Dallas, serving as project architect.

The opening marks the second such medical office building added to the Texas Health Southwest Fort Worth campus in recent years. The hospital opened its 60,000-square-foot professional building 1 in 2014. That building features a satellite Texas Health Ben Hogan Sports Medicine location, Fort Worth Orthopedics group, Texas Hip and Knee Center and a YMCA fitness center.
