A new $12 million medical office building at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth has opened offering expanded orthopedic services. Construction on the new 60,000-square-foot facility began in March 2013.
“Our region and our community are growing very quickly and we want to grow along with it to ensure we are meeting the needs of the people who live and work here,” said Joseph DeLeon, president of Texas Health Southwest. “The new medical office space advances the level of care we can provide and for many, provides an expansion of services in a location that’s closer to home.”
The first three floors of the building houses a satellite Ben Hogan Sports Medicine Institute location that offers advanced outpatient therapy for sports-related injuries as well as sports nutrition and psychology. Also on tap for the first floor are an imaging department with advanced 3T MRI technology and a fitness center, scheduled to open this fall.
The Texas Hip and Knee Center, a Texas Health Physicians Group practice, will open to patients on May 27. The center is located on the building’s third floor and comprises six orthopedic surgeons. Also opening later this year is the second-floor office of Fort Worth Orthopedics, a Texas Health Physicians Group practice of Dr. James Bothwell, a sports medicine orthopedist on the medical staff at Texas Health Southwest. Bothwell is involved with the Ben Hogan Sports Medicine Institute, along with the research and clinical studies it initiates. Hospital officials said more expansion plans will be announced in the near future.
