Tom+Chee is nearly soup. The grilled cheese and tomato soup restaurant, which gained national attention after receiving an investment on ABC’s ‘Shark Tank,’ will open later this month at CityLine, a 186-acre mixed-use project in Richardson.
A grand opening is set for July 16 KDC’s CityLine location is the first Texas lease for Tom+Chee. Founded by Corey Ward and Trew Quackenbush, who also serves as executive chef, Tom+Chee was created to be the quintessential grilled cheese and tomato soup shop for the kid at heart, according to a company news release.
From the vegetarian Hippy+Chee to the offbeat Grilled Cheese Donut, Tom+Chee offers more than 20 grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup.
Tom+Chee was featured in a 2013 episode of ‘Shark Tank.’ Barbara Corcoran and Mark Cuban invested in the concept, though Cuban dropped out after the show aired.
Greg and Wendy Sippel are the franchisees for the restaurant.
The 2,400 square foot location of Tom+Chee will be located in the heart of CityLine, across from Aloft Hotel. The fast, casual restaurant will be open seven days a week from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. for lunch and dinner.
