Opening preview to include free tacos, drinks

Torchy’s Tacos is set to open their second Fort Worth location on 5030 South Hulen, in the Hulen Ridge Shopping Center between Overton Ridge Boulevard and South Drive West.

According to a news release, Torchy’s will open its doors to the public at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 6. Additionally, every customer that visits Torchy’s Tacos on opening day will be entered into a raffle to win free tacos for one year.

The restaurant’s opening will be celebrated beginning Monday, Feb. 5, from 5–8 p.m. for a public preview event. Attendees will be treated to free food and drinks.

Customers can dine-in, order and pay at the front counter, or place online to-go orders for convenience. The new Fort Worth restaurant will feature a separate side entrance dedicated for pick-up and to-go orders.

Torchy’s Tacos features a special Taco of the Month every month, and this February will showcase the Scallywag taco, made up of coconut-battered shrimp, bacon, green chiles, jack cheese, pickled onions and cilantro with homemade habanero peach jam on a flour tortilla.

Historically, Torchy’s has made a point to give back to the community, partnering with MD Anderson Cancer Center, Make-A-Wish and Phoenix House. According to the release, the Fort Worth location is looking forward to supporting local community events. The site was formerly a Cotton Patch Cafe.
