Trademark Property Co. said Tuesday it’s closed on the purchase of 63 acres of the Lockheed Martin Recreation Association complex in southwest Fort Worth, in partnership with Sarofim Realty Advisors.

The site will become home to the partnership’s planned Waterside mixed-use development on the Trinity River west of Bryant Irvin Road.

The first phase of construction begins Oct. 20 and will include the previously announced Whole Foods Market anchor, retail, restaurants, and 375 high-end apartments built by Transwestern Development Co.

The 45,000-square-foot Whole Foods will include a large outdoor seating area.

Ultimately, Waterside will include 200,000 square feet of retail space and riverside restaurants, 20 acres of residential, 200,000 square feet of office space, and a “signature” hotel.

Trademark is touting the development as its first “Conscious Place,” a next-generation, sustainable development mode “designed to engage guests and bring people together by educating, inspiring, hosting and raising awareness in a natural and inviting environment and will offer everything from pet parks, urban gardens to solar power charging stations  and ‘information stations’ with interactive displays.”
