Viridian in Arlington has released nearly 400 homesites to builders as it moves into its next phase of development.
The 393 properties in the newest phase of the Johnson Development community will have a full array of homesites and floor plans similar to the range offered in other Viridian neighborhoods. Most of Viridian’s current builder line-up will be building in the new section. Prices will start from the $300,000s and go up to custom homes priced above $1 million.
“Our development plan has always hinged on offering a variety of homes to suit all buyers,” said Debra Meers, director of Marketing at Viridian. “What makes us unique is we don’t segregate neighborhoods by the price of homes. Instead, you’ll find a mix of homes with first-time homebuyers living down the street from million-dollar buyers. Our buyers have been very receptive to the concept.”
In early July, Robert Charles Lesser & Co. ranked Viridian the No. 2 top-selling community in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Through early August, builders in the community have sold more than 220 new homes in the community.
“In June, Arlington was named one of the nation’s hottest real estate markets, and we are certainly seeing why here in Viridian,” Meers said.
In ranking Arlington as a surging housing market, Realtor.com noted that more than a third of recent buyers in Arlington were millennials. While Meers doesn’t specify ages, she does say that sales of townhomes and single-family homes on properties that are 45-foot or less comprise 53 percent of this year’s home sales.
“While the lower-priced homes are selling, we’re also seeing sales of custom homes, as well,” she said. “And homes in our 55+ community also are selling well.”
So far, more than 25 homes have sold in Elements at Viridian. Arlington’s newest 55+ Active Lifestyle community opened their models this past Spring.
Builders in Viridian include CB Jeni Lifestyle Homes, CastleRock Communities, David Weekley Homes, Drees Custom Homes, Highland Homes, Normandy Homes, Plantation Homes and Toll Brothers. Custom builders include Glendarroch Homes, Struhs Homes and Windmiller Custom Homes.
