IKEA rendering of Grand Prairie location

If you want to, you can start lining up outside the newest IKEA store in the Metroplex at 9 a.m., Monday, Dec. 11.

Considering the possible prizes when the store at State Highway 161 and Mayfield Road in Grand Prairie opens its doors two days later on Wednesday, it might be worth your time. But be prepared: AccuWeather predicts at low of 40 degrees and a high of 67 in Grand Prairie that day.

The first 47 adults in line get an iconic EKTORP sofa and the next 100 get a POÄNG armchair.

“We are thrilled to be opening our 47th store in the U.S. and second store in the Dallas region and have planned a fun-filled week of celebration,” Matthew Hunsicker, store manager, said in a news release. “The IKEA Grand Prairie coworkers look forward to welcoming our shoppers with food, excitement and our extensive range of IKEA products.”

Thursday, Dec. 14, the first 47 adults in line receive a free HAUGESUND mattress, and the next 100 adults receive a free ALINA sleep set that includes a bedspread and cushion covers. Friday, the first 47 adults receive a free 5-piece IKEA 365+ cookware set and the next 100 adults receive a voucher for 12 monthly meatball meals for two at the IKEA Grand Prairie Restaurant through next year, expiring on December 31, 2018.
