Walker steps down from management at CBC Advisors DFW, Steve Gray steps up

Gary Walker

Gary Walker, founder of Coldwell Banker Commercial Advisors DFW, is vacating his position as managing principal at the firm as part of an office expansion and his planned transition into the role of founder and principal.

Following in his footsteps at the 34-employee firm is Steve Gray, who will be spearheading all management duties from this point forward. Gray has been with CBC Advisors DFW as managing principal since May.

CBC Advisors DFW is a full-service commercial real estate firm that offers services such as investment sales, project leasing, property management, tenant representation and more.

“We appreciate Gary’s contributions in building the CBC brand and reputation within the DFW market. His efforts have been invaluable to the success of the firm,” said Rob Cord, the firm’s president, in a news release. “We look forward to further building upon his leadership and legacy as CBC Advisors continues to expand its platform and footprint under the leadership of Steve Gray in greater Dallas and Theron Bryant in Fort Worth.”

The company’s headquarters will remain in Arlington’s Vandergriff Building at 255 N. Center St., however, the Fort Worth office will be relocated from 1300 S. University Dr. in the near future due to its growth and expansion.

During his time in the industry and at CBC Advisors, Walker has been married to both his wife and his work, having 25 years with Rosie and 30 years of experience in commercial real estate. Rather than retire, Walker is taking a sort of step back to allow him to have more time for his family and its foundations, and his work outside of CBC Advisors DFW.

“I love the real estate business, but I wanted to lessen my commitments. I chose to eliminate management so I could focus on brokerage and investments,” Walker said in the release. “I’ve spent years honing my skills in negotiations, sourcing and problem-solving for landlords, tenants and investors. That’s what I enjoy the most.”

Walker added that be believes CBC Advisors is in good hands with Gray and Bryant, and Gray is excited to build on what Walker has done thus far.

“Gary [Walker] has laid a strong foundation. We plan on expanding on what he’s built in the marketplace,” Gray said in the release. “Currently, we are actively recruiting professionals for a Dallas office, our third in the region.”

“CBC Advisors DFW is planning to aggressively expand its business, brokers and staff,” Gray added. “Gary is an integral part of the CBC Advisors organization and will be so for years to come.”
