Wine, automobile concept coming to Magnolia

Magnolia Ave. will get another unique retail offering in May when Kent & Co. Wines opens. Will Churchill and Corrie Watson, the brother/sister duo who operate Frank Kent Motor Co., are blending their interests in automobiles and wine at the location on the northeast corner of Magnolia and Adams Street.

Kent & Co. Wines will be an 8,000 square foot upscale wine bar and specialty retail shop, as well as an automotive drop-off service center, Churchill and Watson announced Jan. 13. The space will also showcase a rotating collection of new and classic cars. “Fort Worth South Inc. has graciously welcomed us with open arms,” said Churchill. “We hope to create an eclectic concept that will fit right in and embrace the Near Southside neighborhood’s creative appeal. The location will also be very convenient for our clients who live and work near downtown, as they will be able to drop off their car before or after work, and can get to their destination via our chauffeur service or a loaned vehicle.”

Construction will begin this month, and Jones Baker Architects have designed the space, reflecting Churchill and Watson’s industrial-chic vision for the space. The selections feature refined wood, metals, brick walls, garage-style doors, leathers, modern furniture and fixtures. The dark-neutral color palette includes a hint of Frank Kent’s signature purple hue. Kent & Co. Wines will offer fine wines, cheeses and desserts; sandwiches may be added to the menu at a later date. A large selection of wine bottles in a variety of price points will also be available for retail purchase.
