Just on the heels of Eatzi’s opening right around the corner, Bread Winners Bakery & Bistro is putting on its finishing touches and getting ready to take center stage at University Park Village.

Bread Winners expects to open this weekend and plan to “be going full force in time for Father’s Day,” said Andrew Popp, Bread Winners vice president.

With locations scattered around Dallas’ hotspots (Uptown, Inwood, Plano, Northpark and the newly opened Trophy Club location) this will be the first Fort Worth appearance of the popular brunch-minded brand. “With neighbors like Ol’South, McKinley’s and Panera; we are excited to give patrons another option and introduce our menus and atmosphere to Fort Worth,” said Popp.

Bread Winners serves breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner with creative flair. Take for example: the Jalapeño Bacon and Cheddar Waffle, the Crab Cake Benedict served with grilled asparagus, or a Honey Glazed Salmon Salad with mandarin oranges and a lemon shallot vinaigrette. The thorough and well-planned menus offer something for everyone.

The Sparkle Bar was introduced at both the Trophy Club location and their Quarter Bar in Dallas’ Uptown. The Sparkle Bar offers guests the chance to embellish a traditional mimosa with a selection of booze infused fruits and juices. It’s a classy touch and a chance for customers to sip and toast while waiting for a table.

The stunning bakery cases are filled with a rotating selection of over 100 varieties of cakes, pies, cheesecakes, cookies, bars and brownies, all house-made daily and ready for carry out or special order.

“The layout of our University Park location will be similar to our Inwood location with open spaces and multiple dining rooms. It will have many of the same elements our customers have come to enjoy at our flagship Northpark Bread Winners too like: exposed brick, a large bar area and a pergola covered patio,” Popp said.

Fort Worth fans of the Dallas-based brand have been begging for a Bread Winners for years (ever since it first burst on the Dallas scene in 1994). After a deal fell through in 2012, Bread Winner’s has had their eye on one space in particular. “We always said if that Blue Mesa ever vacated that location, it would be the perfect spot for us to open in Fort Worth. It did…so here we are,” he said.
