Heim Barbecue to open second location in early March

Heim Barbecue

Heim Barbecue’s new location, in Fort Worth’s River District, is set to start smoking in early March, the Fort Worth favorite announced Feb. 8.

Designed by Coeval Studio, the Fort Worth barbecue restaurant will offer ample seating and parking, a massive kitchen, full bar, covered patio, as well as an outdoor beer garden that will feature live music and special events. Set in a 7,500-square-foot space, Heim’s second location will also boast eight smokers—five more than the Magnolia Avenue location—in attempt to keep up with the ever-growing.

As pit master, Travis Heim takes a slow and low approach to traditional Texas-style barbecue. At its second location, Heim will continue serving savory smoked meats that let the flavor speak for itself. With no gimmicks or short cuts, Heim takes pride in its farm-to-smoker offerings—utilizing a combination of humanely-raised meats and meticulous techniques. Its famed meat-focused menu will include a variety of smoked meat priced by the half pound, sandwiches, the popular HEIMburger, homemade sides and desserts, as well as its signature Bacon Burnt Ends.

“We only had $100 to our names when we opened our food truck four years ago and we never dreamed of owning not one, but two restaurants,” said pit master and Heim founder, Travis Heim. “Our second location is truly a testament to our incredible guests who have supported our vision from the very beginning, and we can’t wait to invite everyone into our new River District home.”
