HG Sply Co. will open its second location on Monday, August 22 in Fort Worth’s WestBend development at 1621 River Run Dr. Suite 176. The much anticipated arrival is spacious, encompassing 4,400 square feet with seating for 145.
HG Sply Co. was founded by Elias Pope of 8020 Hospitality, the group behind HG Sply Co., Remedy and the soon-to-open Standard Service. The restaurant and bar has become a popular destination at its original location on Greenville Avenue in Dallas.
In an announcement Tuesday the company explained, “Using all-natural, responsibly-sourced ingredients, Chef Danyele McPherson has created a menu that is accessible to everyone, regardless of dietary need or preference. Fort Worth’s own Eric O’Connor, formerly of Winslow’s Wine Café, will act as chef de cuisine at the newest location, running the day-to-day kitchen operations.”
Expect the Fort Worth venue to be an extension of what has made the original location a success – a menu of savory plates, bowls and classic cocktails in an open, casual atmosphere. Pope says, “Our mission has always been a simple one: serve fresh, flavorful dishes prepared and sourced the right way to fuel your day. We want people to enjoy time with their friends in a relaxed environment with thoughtfully prepared drinks and little to no regret the next day. Danyele takes the idea of ‘healthy’ food and makes it delicious.”
HG Sply Co. Fort Worth will take full advantage of WestBend’s location on the Trinity River and Trinity Trails with a massive 7,000 square foot patio with seating for 215, overlooking the river and trails, which will open in the coming months.
Chef McPherson says, “Food with a ‘conscience’ doesn’t have to be expensive or flavorless. It can be vibrant, surprising and taste great all at the same time. In addition to other items, the bowl program is wholesome and accessible for people with all kinds of dietary restrictions, while also being flavorful and filling.”
The popular bowls allow diners to combine items that have been Hunted (like grilled Scottish Salmon or Texas Lamb Meatballs) with items that have been Gathered (like Garlic Herb Coconut Butter Green Beans or Sweet Potato Hash). The WestBend HG Sply Co. will offer the same staple dishes as its older sister in Dallas, with a few additions unique to Fort Worth, according to restaurant officials.
