The first campers have arrived to stake their place in line.
Gentlemen start your fryers. It’s time to get that oil bubbling hot, and switch on the conveyor belts. Soon the scent of frying dough and fresh sugar glaze will be wafting through Westworth.
After many construction stops and starts the newest Krispy Kreme located at 6700 Westworth Blvd. in the Shoppes at Hawks Creek is finally about to open. The Grand Opening festivities are scheduled for June 1, beginning at 6 a.m. “Our first campers are here! We are so excited about our grand opening tomorrow,” said Lulu Perales with Sun Holdings.
One of the largest franchisees in the nation, Dallas-based Sun Holdings LLC, led by President and CEO Guillermo Perales, owns this location. Sun Holdings LLC has another local opening too. The Krispy Kreme set for Marsh Lane is on the same grand opening list. Both were expected to be up and running in the fall of 2015…but better late than never.
Rumors have swirled at the delays, and nearby residents have been forced to drive by a tantalizing, yet unproductive Krispy Kreme for way too long. The mouth-watering green and white bow-tie signage was installed months ago.
Krispy Kreme Grand Openings are an extravaganza. Devoted customers will stand in line and even camp out overnight to get that first dose of fried dough, and in the hopes of winning free Krispy Kreme doughnuts for a year. The first 100 guests who are registered in line, outside the store, and comply with the rules, will receive a punch card for free doughnuts for one year – which entitles them to one dozen Original Glazed Doughnuts each month for one year.
Check out the website for the elaborate list of rules before you take your place in line.
