McDonald’s is giving away something special today – bottles of the Big Mac Special Sauce.
To celebrate the return of the Big Mac family – which will now consist of the classic Big Mac, the Grand Mac and the Mac Jr. – McDonald’s of Greater North Texas will be hosting a Big Mac Party from noon to 2 p.m. on today at the McDonald’s restaurant located at 11102 N. Central Expressway in Dallas. The first 235 guests will receive a complimentary Big Mac Special Sauce bottle and the first 100 guests will receive a free Big Mac.
“Introducing the Grand Mac and Mac Jr. is an exciting way to provide variety to our Big Mac lovers without changing the burger’s iconic flavor,” said Ron Dribben, McDonald’s of Greater North Texas Co-op President. “We were thrilled with our customers’ reactions to these new menu options last year when we tested these products in DFW, and are proud to see this initiative expand nationally.”
After a test in Dallas-Fort Worth last spring, the iconic burgers have been reintroduced to the North Texas area and have been rolled out nationwide.
These twists on the legendary sandwich – which famously has two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, and onions on a sesame seed bun. It’s probably easier to sing it than say it.
The Grand Mac is made with one-third pound of 100 percent pure USDA-inspected beef and two slices of melty American cheese served on a larger sesame seed bun with lettuce, minced onions and tangy pickles. The Mac Jr. is a single-layer Big Mac that’s easier to eat on the go, according to a company news release.
McDonald’s of Greater North Texas is part of McDonald’s Beef Improvement Journey and works with the Oak Brook, Illinois-based parent company to gather feedback from consumers to determine which products would succeed in markets across the country. In addition to the Big Mac test in 2016, McDonald’s of Greater North Texas was also a leader in the Hot off the Grill Fresh Beef test, which is slated to roll out nationwide in 2017.
