New Chick-fil-A location coming to Plano March 8

Collin County chicken lovers, rejoice! Plano will soon be able to, as those famous cows on highway billboards often say, “Eat Mor Chikin!”

Chick-fil-A is kicking off an eight-restaurant Dallas-Fort Worth area expansion in 2018 beginning with the March 8 grand openings of a new stand-alone location in Plano, a news release said. The Spring Creek and Highway 121 Plano location at 7000 W. Spring Creek Parkway will be opened local owner Operator Kevin Bulmann.

A Chick-fil-A franchise owner since 2006, Bulmann got his start after graduating with his business degree from Miami University of Ohio. He got his foot in the door working part-time at a Chick-fil-A restaurant to gain insight into the business, and was ultimately was selected to operate a mall location in Cincinnati.

Then, in 2010, Bulmann was selected to open a new stand-alone restaurant in Orland Park, Illinois, as the chain expanded into the Chicago market.

Bulmann said he is excited about his Texas relocation and opening the new Plano location, and he says he looks forward to serving his new community.

The eight DFW-area restaurants are expected to be complete by summer’s end, and the Plano location’s the grand opening will feature the opportunity for up to 100 adults to earn free Chick-fil-A for a year through a First 100 Road Trip.

Grand opening festivity participants will travel in chartered buses around the Plano/D-FW area for about seven hours. The news release says participants will engage in activities to help them get up and move as well as inspire civic pride and gratitude.

Registration for the chicken-fueled escapades will be held at the restaurant that morning from 6-8:45 a.m., or until 100 eligible participants are reached, whichever comes first.

However, if more than 100 people are on-site when the line opens at 6 a.m. March 7, a drawing will be held to randomly select 100 guests who will participate in the event, which will last until approximately 5 p.m.

The Chick-fil-A for a year prize includes 52 meals with each consisting of a Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich, medium Waffle Potato Fries and a medium beverage.

The community event is only open to guests in local zip codes, and to win the prize participants must be 18 years of age or older and must show an ID. For a list of zipcodes and accepted identiication, please visit https://thechickenwire.chick-fil-a.com/News/Future-Openings.

The news release said Bulmann is also inviting his First 100 guests and restaurant customers to participate in a children’s book drive during grand opening week to benefit local youth organizations.
