Smokey Mae’s Barbecue opens Saturday in Mansfield

🕐 0 min read

Smokey Mae’s Barbecue officially opens at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday in Mansfield. Smokey Mae’s is run by Rodney Lambert, formerly associated with Fred’s Café and Deer Creek BBQ.

Aside from the typical offerings – lots of meat options, for instance – Smokey Mae’s origins date back to the ‘20s when the founder’s grandmother used the smoke from the barbecue pits to mask the smell of the still that was brewing moonshine. As a result, Smokey Mae’s will be offering some legal moonshine on its menu.
