Now that temperatures had plummeted to the low 100s, it’s time to think about the cool days of September and October and the State Fair.
The 14th Annual Big Tex Choice Awards, presented by Vistaprint, has announced its list of semi-finalists of funky fried foods and other food weirdness.
Among this year’s semi-finalists are Fried Kool-Aid Pickles, Deep Fried Bodacious Bacon Bombs, Deep Dried M&Ms, Cotton Candy Tacos and the haughty Deep Fried Raspberry Brie.
Thirty-one semi-finalists have been named and are one step closer to the main event, where they will compete for one of three winning titles. “Best Taste – Sweet,” “Best Taste – Savory,” and “Most Creative.” All proceeds from the annual Big Tex Choice Awards competition are donated to the State Fair of Texas Scholarship Program. Results will be announced in late August.
