Ex-Cowboy Spillman charged in Grapevine sexual assault

GRAPEVINE, Texas (AP) – Former Cowboys special teams player C.J. Spillman has been arrested on a sexual assault charge in an alleged 2014 incident at a Dallas-area hotel.

Tarrant County jail records show Spillman surrendered early Wednesday and was freed on $15,000 bond.

Grapevine police say a grand jury indicted Spillman on Monday after the alleged assault of a woman last Sept. 20 at the Gaylord Texan Resort, where he was staying.

Sgt. Robert Eberling says the woman filed a complaint within days of the incident. Eberling declined to provide further details on the investigation.
