Series Record: Oklahoma State leads 13-10-2

WHAT’S AT STAKE

Both teams are pushing for a spot in the College Football Playoff. Both still have to play No. 2 Baylor and No. 14 Oklahoma, and they would like to be unbeaten heading into those marquee matchups. A loss would be almost impossible to overcome this late in the season.

KEY MATCHUP

Oklahoma State QB J.W. Walsh vs. TCU’s defense: Walsh, the backup quarterback, plays mostly in the red zone because he’s a dual threat. Oklahoma State ranks No. 6 nationally in red zone offense, largely because Walsh’s stats look like something off a video game — he’s 18-for-23 for 296 yards with nine touchdowns and no interceptions, good for a 315.5 passer rating. He also has seven rushing touchdowns on just 35 carries.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

TCU: QB Trevone Boykin. His true Heisman campaign starts now. He’s got the gaudy stats — he ranks second nationally in total offense with 431.4 yards per game. Now, he needs the big wins. This would be the first.

Oklahoma State: DE Emmanuel Ogbah. He ranks fourth nationally with 1.13 sacks per game, and he creates all sorts of other havoc that doesn’t show up on a stat sheet. He has been involved in at least one sack in every game this season.
