FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Kyan Anderson paced TCU with 16 points and the Horned Frogs remained one of five undefeated Division I teams, beating Tennessee State 60-40 on Monday.

Anderson was just 4 of 14 from the floor and 2 of 11 from beyond the arc, but made all six of his free throws. Trey Zeigler added 10 points for TCU (13-0). The Frogs dominated on the boards, outrebounding Tennessee State 50-29.

Jay Harris paced the Tigers (2-12) with 10 points.

Tennessee State hung around the first 8 minutes, but TCU used a 14-0 run — including 3-pointers from Anderson, Amric Fields and Chauncey Collins — to lead 33-19 at the break.

The Frogs scored just four points over the first 8:05 of the second half, all Anderson free throws, as Tennessee State cut its deficit to five with 10:30 left. But TCU went on a 13-0 run immediately thereafter to secure the win.

Chris Washburn started the run with an offensive rebound and put-back. Kenrich Williams then blocked a shot, which was gathered by Washburn and the two ran the floor, with Williams finishing to put TCU up by nine.

Anderson made a pair of free throws, then the next trip down drilled a 3-pointer and the lead was back to 14 just that quickly. Williams turned another offensive rebound into two more points, and then Zeigler’s 3 made it 52-34 before Tennessee Tech first-year head coach Dana Ford called timeout to stop the run.

The Tigers didn’t have another run in them, though, as they made just 2 of 5 shots and 1 of 7 from the line in the last 5:42.

Marcus Roper, tied with Harris as TSU’s leading scorer averaging 11.4 points coming in, was held to just two points over 25 minutes. The Tigers were hurt at the line, where they made just 8 of 20 attempts.

TCU started play 11th in the country in rebounding margin and took advantage of the undermanned Tigers. Williams hauled in 13 boards while Washburn gathered 12.

TIP INS

TCU: The Frogs extended their program-best season start. The previous record was a 9-0 start to the 1997-98 season. The school’s longest winning streak is 16 games, set during the same season — the last time the program made the NCAA tournament.

Tennessee State: The Tigers have scored over 60 points just once in their current 11-game losing streak. They haven’t won since Nov. 20 against NAIA-member Fisk University.
