Amazon hiring 2,000 more in North Texas

Amazon.com hopes to fill 2,000 newly created full-time positions at its Haslet and Coppell fulfillment centers, as well as its newest facility in southern Dallas.

Since 2013, the online retail giant has created more than 3,000 full-time jobs in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and continues hiring to meet growing customer demand.

Those working at the fulfillment centers work alongside innovative technologies — including Amazon robotics — that associates use on a daily basis to fulfill customer orders.

“Amazon keeps delivering for this area,” said Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings in a news release.

“We are proud to have Amazon in this community and applaud their continued growth and contributions to the area’s economic development,” Rawlings said.

In addition to the new fulfillment center in southern Dallas, Amazon also has begun building a new fulfillment center in San Marcos between Austin and San Antonio.

Full-time employees at Amazon receive competitive hourly wages and a comprehensive benefits package, including healthcare, 401(k) and company stock awards starting on day one. Amazon also offers full-time employees programs such as Career Choice, in which is pre-pays up to 95 percent of tuition for courses related to in-demand fields, regardless of whether the skills are relevant to a career at Amazon.
