AZZ announces $11M contract for nuclear plant work in China

AZZ Inc. (NYSE:AZZ), announced July 12 it has been awarded a second contract valued at $11 million from Sanmen Nuclear Power Company to provide two circuits of 550kV 3,150Amp Gas Insulated Line (GIL) for the Sanmen Nuclear Power Plant

AZZ, based in Fort Worth, is a global provider of galvanizing services, welding solutions, specialty electrical equipment and highly engineered services to the power generation, transmission, distribution and industrial markets.

Under the terms of the contract, AZZ will provide 5,130 meters of GIL for phase two of the Sanmen Nuclear Power Plant. The Sanmen Nuclear Power Plant is located in the Zhejiang Province of China about midway up the country’s eastern coast. The capital city of that province is Hangzhou. The Sanmen Nuclear Power Plant is the first AP1000 nuclear power plant in the world with phase one planned capacity of 2,500 megawatts (MW). An additional 2,500 MW of capacity is planned for phase two. AZZ said delivery of their products are scheduled to begin in mid-2018.
