AZZ fires energy segement leader, company president steps in

AZZ Inc. of Fort Worth has fired Ashok Kolady as senior vice president and chief operating officer of its energy segment effective immediately.

Assuming day-to-day operations of the segment through the rest of the current fiscal year will be Tom Ferguson, the company’s president and CEO. The company specified no reason for Kolady’s termination.

AZZ’s management team and board of directors will evaluate appointing another individual to serve as senior vice president of the segment.

“I thank Ashok for the past seven years of service to the company, and I believe he has contributed significantly to what AZZ has become, and wish him well in his future endeavors,” Ferguson said in a news release.

“My desire is to grow the energy segment and its platforms more aggressively,” Ferguson said.

Ferguson said he plans to focus on accelerating international expansion programs and increasing the company’s emphasis on innovation and development.

AZZ Inc. provides specialty electrical equipment and engineered services to the power generation, transmission, distribution, and industrial markets, as well as providing hot dip galvanizing services to the North American steel fabrication market.
