Bell Helicopter expands service at Singapore site

  A. Lee Graham Reporter   Bell Helicopter Inc., a Fort Worth-based wholly owned subsidiary of Textron Inc., has received approval by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore to perform maintenance and customization on Bell 206 series, Bell 407 series and Bell 429 aircraft under certification of the Transport Canada Civil Aviation.   “The CAAS approval offers enhanced service offerings to our customers and strengthens our presence in the region,” said Michael T. Reagan, director of Bell’s Global Services division in a news release.   “With this qualification we can now perform customization work on all in-production Bell Helicopter aircraft using this bilateral agreement with Transport Canada,” Reagan said.   Under an agreement between the Singapore and Canadian firms, Bell’s helicopter service center in Singapore will complete repair, modification and customization on aircraft that are Transport Canada Civil Aviation-certified. Among those are scheduled or unscheduled maintenance; inspections, repair or recertification; and component replacement.   The latest approval authorizes the Bell Helicopter Service Center in Singapore to inspect, test, repair and modify current production Bell Helicopter aircraft under the regulatory authorities of Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines.   lgraham@bizpress.net
