E-Mist Innovations Inc., a client of nonprofit technology incubator Tech Fort Worth, has received a $150,000 investment from Cowtown Angels and named Cowtown Angel member George Robertson its president and CEO. Eight Cowtown Angels members made the initial investment and also received rights for the next round of investment.
E-Mist Innovations developed and patented an electrostatic mister to apply EPA-approved disinfectants very quickly to areas. The company provides sanitation and disinfectant services for offices, hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, classrooms, day care centers, hotels, restaurants, computer labs, libraries, gymnasiums and locker rooms, all types of public and mass transit, and public facilities. In 2013, E-Mist was a finalist for a TechFW Impact Award while going through the nonprofit’s incubation program. As a result, the company received the opportunity to pitch to the Cowtown Angels.
“Now the company is getting the money it needs to proceed and gaining an experienced CEO. The company will be continuing with TechFW in our acceleration program. It’s a great example of how we help businesses get their technology to market,” said TechFW Executive Director Darlene Boudreaux. Robertson is executive chairman and founder of National HME, a durable medical equipment (DME) company that provides equipment and solutions for hospices and the patients they serve. National HME has more than 40 service centers and a Hospice Cloud Network that serves more than 500 hospice programs with a patient census in excess of 23,000 daily.
Mike Sides, founder and inventor of the technology the company is based on, together with his daughter Brandi Whitely, the clinical director, and Christopher Sides will serve on the E-Mist board of directors.
