Elbit Systems of America was awarded a $23 million order to supply systems and spare parts for the US Marine Corps’ Squad Binocular Night Vision Goggles program, the company announced on Oct. 3.
Elbit’s Night Vision, LLC. will supply and execute the order in Roanoke, Virginia over the next 10 months.
The Fort Worth-based defense technology company acquired the Night Vision business from Harris Corp. last month in a deal valued at $350 million. The new Marine order stems from a five-year contract, worth $249 million, first awarded to Harris Corp. on Sept. 6.
Elbit will supply the Marines a Squad Binocular Night Vision Goggle System that consists of a high-performance, white phosphor image intensifier binocular, a modular uncooled thermal imaging sensor, and a common external power supply. The system increases mobility and situational awareness during night operations, Elbit said.
