Coppell-based Geoforce, a provider of global track and trace products for field equipment, said May 27 it is making available what it calls “the world’s smallest industrial GPS asset tracking device.” The new device operates on a global satellite network, and coupled with Geoforce’s web-based software applications, provides service to new asset classes that could not be addressed with larger, more expensive devices currently found in the market, according to the company. “Our customers are constantly pushing for smaller, easier to deploy, and of course – more affordable device,” said James S. MacLean III, Geoforce’s president and CEO, in a news release. “With the GT0 we are delivering on all three. This is a truly exciting product that will bring the benefits of our track and trace solutions to new asset classes.” With an expected five to seven year battery life, the GT0 is the world’s first simple-to-deploy “slap and track” device, according to the company. . “The GT0 represents our best ideas from more than 10 years of developing small, rugged, satellite-based tracking devices,” said Geoforce’s CTO, Gary Naden. “The result is a significant advance in technology and value for our customers.”
