Dunaway has hired Chris Vadala as its corporate development executive.

Vadala, previously a senior vice president at Bury Inc., has more than 20 years of experience. He will participate in corporate strategy while leading all of its business development initiatives statewide. He is a Texas native and graduate of Texas Tech University.

The Fort Worth Fire Department has promoted Captain Sherri Hauch to battalion chief. She is the first woman in the department’s history to become a battalion chief and now is the highest-ranking woman in the department.

Amanda Corrigan has joined Caregiver Inc. as vice president of operational excellence and will be instrumental in leading the company’s Project Management Group.

TEXO, North Texas’ joint AGC & ABC association, announced on March 15 that Bob Moore Construction has been awarded the Distinguished Building Award for its work on General Motors’ Arlington Automotive Logistics Center in the Industrial / Warehouse 2 (over $5 million) Category.

The Logistics Center is a two-building facility totaling over 1.2 million square feet built on 80 acres on the site of the former Six Flags Mall. The new facilities will house state-of-the-art manufacturing and warehousing technologies for three subsidiaries supporting assembly of the Chevy Tahoe and Suburban, GMC Yukon and Yukon XL, and the Cadillac Escalade at the GM Assembly Plant located across State Highway 360.

Cowtown Creative LLC received national certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise by the Women’s Business Council – Southwest, a regional certifying partner of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council, the company announced.

Cowtown Creative, a branding, marketing and communications firm, was founded in 2007 and is headquartered in Burleson.

LAW

Gov. Greg Abbott has appointed Ryan Sinclair of Granbury as district attorney for the 355th Judicial District in Hood County for a term to expire Dec. 31, 2020, or until his successor is elected and qualified. This appointment is subject to Senate confirmation.

Sinclair is the first assistant district attorney for the 355th Judicial District Attorney’s Office and is an adjutant professor at Southwestern Adventist University. He is president and former vice president of the Hood County Bar Association and a member of the State Bar of Texas, National District Attorneys Association, Texas District & County Attorneys Association and the American Bar Association. He is board treasurer of the Paluxy River Children’s Advocacy Center, board member of the Hood County Children’s Charity Fund, and a member of Leadership Granbury. He is also a former board member of Preserve Granbury and the Waco Historic Landmark Preservation Commission. Sinclair has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Southwestern Adventist University and a law degree from Baylor Law School.

NONPROFITS

Kathleen Barbee has joined Junior Achievement of the Chisholm Trail as director of development. Barbee has over 15 years of experience in the finance, small business and nonprofit sector.

Goodwill Industries of Fort Worth Inc. has added Majayka “Maji” Francis as purchasing director. Francis will be responsible for oversight of supply chain operations and the overall purchasing function for the agency, including negotiation of buying goods, equipment and services. Francis has 19 years of experience in the field. Francis worked most recently as procurement representative for Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. in Danbury, Conn.
