Silvestri elected president at Wier & Associates

Carlo Silvestri, a principal of Arlington engineering consulting firm Wier & Associates Inc., has been elected its new president. Established in 1978, Wier & Associates provides professional civil engineering, land surveying and land planning services. Clients of the firm include land developers, municipal and state agencies, economic development corporations, architects, title companies, hospitals and the natural gas development industry.

John P. Wier, founding principal and former president, said, “As we embark on our 37th year, the election of a new president is a significant and exciting change in the structure of our leadership team. I look forward to working alongside Carlo and this new generation of leaders as Wier & Associates continues to address opportunities with integrity and provide quality service to our clients.” Silvestri has been with Wier & Associates since 1993, starting as an engineering intern. He accepted a position as a graduate engineer after earning his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1996. He became an associate of the firm in 2001 and a principal in 2004. He is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Texas as well as Pennsylvania, North Dakota, Oklahoma and Colorado.

Silvestri has 18 years of experience in general civil design pertaining to water, sewer, street, grading and storm drainage improvements for private and public sector clients. He is a member of several organizations, including The Real Estate Council, American Society of Civil Engineers, American Public Works Association, serves as a trustee of the UTA Chapter of Chi Epsilon and is a member of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers DFW Mid-Cities Chapter, where he was honored in 2004 as Young Engineer of the Year. –Betty Dillard bdillard@bizpress.net
