BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — A Texas-based company plans to open a technology center in New Orleans that will employ 350 people.
Accruent, a software and information technology firm with headquarters in Austin and operations in Plano as well as other locations around the U.S., announced the plans Monday through Gov. John Bel Edwards’ office. The company will occupy office space in New Orleans’ Central Business District and already has started hiring, with commercial operations starting this month.
Edwards’ office said Accruent will have 350 people on the New Orleans payroll by 2020.
In a statement, Accruent CEO John Borgerding said the New Orleans jobs will be in software development, professional services, sales, customer support and administration.
The company is expected to get Louisiana tax breaks through the Digital Interactive Media and Software Development Incentive and the Quality Jobs Program. Louisiana’s economic development agency also is offering workforce development assistance.
