3 dead, 4 injured after truck crosses lane outside Dallas

ANNA, Texas (AP) — Authorities say three people died and four others were hospitalized after a pickup truck crossed into the oncoming lane on a rural stretch of highway outside Dallas and was struck by a car.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said Sunday the crash rolled the car into a ditch and remains under investigation. It happened Saturday evening in Collin County while it was raining.

Authorities say the drivers of both vehicles and one passenger in the car died at the scene. Another passenger in the car and three others in the truck were taken to nearby hospitals with serious injuries.

Names and ages of the victims had not yet been released.

The crash happened about 50 miles north of Dallas.
