BNSF Railway Co. of Fort Worth has honored 109 shippers with the company’s 16th Annual Product Stewardship Award for safely transporting hazardous materials by rail in 2012. Honorees were selected for transporting at least 500 loaded tank cars of hazardous materials in the previous year with no non-accident releases in the transportation cycle and for successfully implementing product stewardship ethics as outlined by the American Chemistry Council’s Responsible Care initiative. “We are honored to do business with so many customers that share BNSF’s dedication to the safe transportation of hazardous materials,” said Steve Bobb, BNSF executive vice president and chief marketing officer, commenting in a news release. Among award recipients are Flint Hills Resources LLC, which operates a terminal in Euless; Anadarko Energy Services; and Koch Nitrogen LLC.
