Several closures are planned this week along the Interstate 35W-Loop 820 interchange, according to North Tarrant Express officials.
From 9 p.m. Wednesday June 3 through 5 a.m. Thursday June 4, motorists can expect:
· All lanes of eastbound IH 820 at the I-35W/IH 820 interchange to be closed. Traffic will be redirected along the frontage road to Meacham Boulevard.
· The direct connector from northbound I-35W at eastbound IH 820 will be closed. Traffic will be redirected to Meacham Boulevard.
· The direct connector from southbound I-35W to eastbound IH 820 will be closed. Traffic will be redirected to Meacham Boulevard.
Prompting the closures is work associated with the North Tarrant Express 35W project, which includes roadway currently ranked number eight on the state’s most congested roadway list along 6.5 miles of I-35W from north of Interstate 30 to north of I-820. The project, which includes reconstructing main lanes and adding TEXpress managed lanes, is expected to reach completion in 2018.
