Dallas Fort Worth International Airport has again been named “Best Large Airport” among North American airports serving more than 40 million passengers per year, Airports Council International (ACI) announced.
The Global Airport of the Year Award from Air Transport World recognizes outstanding customer service. ACI’s ASQ program measures passenger satisfaction in real time while passengers are at the airport. This is the airport industry’s only program that measures passenger satisfaction of airport experience.
This is the second time in the past three years that DFW Airport has earned this recognition.
“Customer experience (is) our top strategic priority,” said DWF Airport CEO Sean Donohue. “With the recognition from ACI and the Global Airport of the Year Award from Air Transport World, the industry and our customers are taking notice of our investments in technology, infrastructure and people to transform travel.”
ACI’s ASQ program assesses customer service experience in areas such as check-in, security, direction way-finding and food and beverage offerings at more than 75 percent of the world’s 100 busiest airports.
DFW Airport serves more than 69 million travelers a year as one of the busiest super-hub airports worldwide, offering flights to 187 domestic and 62 international nonstop destinations.
The airport also generates $37 million in economic impact to the North Texas area every year.
“Excellence in the customer experience has been a high priority goal for DFW for many years and will remain a priority moving forward,” said Ken Buchanan, DFW Airport executive vice president for customer experience and revenue management.
